Our practice is a physician owned private practice and we’re excited to hire a talented surgeon who wants to join a thriving, growing practice in Western North Carolina. We have been serving this community for nearly 40 years.
We seek a dedicated team player with the desire to serve a wide variety of medical and surgical patients in an environment focused on excellence with compassion. We are searching for a Comprehensive Ophthalmologist / Cataract Surgeon and an interest in anterior segment, glaucoma, medical retina, or oculoplastics is a plus. Our surgeons include two cornea/anterior segment specialists, and we perform a significant volume of cataract surgery using the latest lenses as well as MIGS procedures. We also have two optometrists. Our ODs perform routine exams and do the majority of contact lens fittings including scleral lenses.

Our practice has two offices in Hendersonville and Brevard, North Carolina, which are close to Asheville. Both offices have 8-9 exam lanes, a dedicated minor OR, OCT, Humphrey VF, solid state argon laser, Ellex Yag and SLT, an integrated EHR and a full service optical. We enjoy a loyal patient following and steady referrals from primary care physicians and optometrists. We all use scribes and technicians to maximize our efficiency and improve the quality of our time with patients.
Although we do not offer surgical retina, we have provided excellent medical retina care to our patients. An experienced candidate could also offer medical retina care including injections. We enjoy a good relationship with several excellent retina specialists available for more complex medical and surgical cases.

Our surgeons have access to a brand new multi-specialty ASC with two rooms available for eye surgery. We cover call at two local hospitals. Significant trauma is referred outside our service area to a level 2 trauma center in Asheville. All the ophthalmologists share call responsibilities.
We can offer a competitive compensation package based on experience and an aggressive productivity bonus structure with a base salary and bonus. Benefits include malpractice coverage, medical insurance, paid vacation, 401K plan, a moving and CME allowance.
Our goal is to offer a successful full time associate partnership after 2 years. However, we will also consider surgeons who are looking for employment only options too.
